Disclosure: This page is written by The TaskFire Team. We make TaskFire, one of the two apps compared here, so we have an obvious interest. We’ve tried to be fair: competitor facts come from the competitor’s own website or help pages, each with a source link below, and we say plainly where TickTick is the better choice. Prices are in US dollars and were checked in October 2026.
The short answer
TickTick is the better choice if you want the most features in one app (calendar views, habits, an Eisenhower Matrix, timeline view) or need Android and Windows apps. TaskFire is the better choice if you want a simpler, list-and-Smart-List approach on iPhone, iPad, Mac and the web, at a lower price: $30 a year for Premium versus $49.99 a year for TickTick Premium. Pricing
TickTick’s free plan includes 9 lists with 99 tasks per list, list and Kanban views, natural-language input, task reminders and cross-platform sync. Premium raises the limits to 299 lists and 999 tasks per list, 5 reminders per task and 299 habits, and adds multiple calendar views, timeline view, task duration, email reminders and themes. TickTick lists Premium at US$49.99 a year (less than US$4.17 a month) on its website, and its App Store listing also offers a monthly plan at $4.99.
TaskFire has a free Basic plan with tasks, checklists, reminders, notes, comments and free syncing, capped at 50 active tasks and 3 active lists, with one reminder per task. Premium costs $2.99 a month or $30 a year (about $2.50 a month) and removes those limits. It adds tags, Smart Lists, recurring tasks, location alerts, Siri and Siri Shortcuts, list sharing, task assignment, adding tasks by email, Google Calendar and Slack integration, up to 10 reminders per task and 1 GB of attachment storage. Teams costs $4 per user per month (or $40 per user per year) and adds centralized billing, a team admin dashboard and priority support. New accounts get 14 days of Premium free, and you can cancel at any time.
Bottom line: TaskFire Premium is about $20 a year cheaper ($30 vs $49.99), or $2 a month cheaper on monthly billing ($2.99 vs $4.99). TickTick gives you more features for its price.
Platforms
TickTick runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows, Linux, Android and the web, plus Apple Watch.
TaskFire runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and the web, and one account syncs everything. TaskFire has no Android app and no native Windows app; on a Windows PC or Chromebook you’d use the web app. TickTick wins for anyone on Android or Windows.
Features
TickTick is an all-in-one planner: tasks with priorities, tags, subtasks, recurring tasks, templates and custom Filters, plus location reminders, Siri, adding tasks by email, calendar and timeline views, a habit tracker, countdowns, an Eisenhower Matrix, statistics and AI features. Some of these (like the calendar, Matrix and widgets) are limited to a basic version on the free plan.
TaskFire is built around lists and Smart Lists, which are saved filters that pull tasks together from every list. New accounts start with ready-made Smart Lists such as Important (starred), Next seven days and Assigned to you, and you can copy and edit them. When you type a task, TaskFire reads symbols in the text to fill in fields: brackets for a start date, parentheses for a due date, exclamation marks for priority, # for tags and a dash for the list name. Tasks can have start and due dates, three priority levels, notes, comments, tags, checklists, and repeat patterns based on either the due date or the completion date. You can also forward an email to create a task, with the email body saved as the task’s notes.
TaskFire doesn’t have built-in habit tracking, an Eisenhower Matrix or a timeline view. Some people prefer that simpler focus; others want everything in one place, and for them TickTick is the better fit.
Collaboration
TickTick lets you share lists with others: up to 2 members on the free plan and 29 on Premium.
In TaskFire, Premium users can share lists with Free and Premium users, assign tasks to people, and comment on tasks, with optional email notifications for new comments. The built-in “Assigned to you” Smart List shows everything that’s been handed to you. The Teams plan adds centralized billing and an admin dashboard. You can also invite outside collaborators to your lists for free.
